Program Description
Event Details
The Raleigh Branch Library is excited to be offering individual appointments for use of our 3D printer this summer!
Please read the rules before registering for an appointment:
- These appointments are specifically for patrons who have files that are ready to print; this is not a class on how to use the 3D printer (check the event calendar for upcoming classes).
- Patrons may not touch the 3D printer without staff supervision and approval. You do not need to be physically present for your appointment.
- All prints must be approved by library staff and appropriate for public viewing in a family environment.
- Files should be sliced, in g-code format, and emailed to sara.priddy@memphistn.gov before the end of your appointment day. G-codes can be emailed early, so long as you have registered for the appointment. In your slicer, select settings for a Creality Ender 3-S1 printer.
- Filament is limited to PLA or PETG. Colors are subject to availability. Please indicate your preferred filament and color in your email. If that color is not available, we will respond with available options. If you have not chosen an available color by the end of your appointment day, we will choose a color for you.
- All prints are FREE. The library will not be liable for failed prints. We will troubleshoot to the best of our ability within the appointment timeframe; if the print cannot be successfully completed within the timeframe, you will need to book a second appointment.
- Registration is limited to once per individual per month, except in the case of a failed print.
- Library staff will start your print on the day of your appointment. Large files that require more than 24 hours will not be approved.
- Once completed, your file will be removed from the build plate and held at the front desk with your name on it for 7 days. If we have not heard from you after 7 days, your print may be discarded or repurposed.
- Contact sara.priddy@memphistn.gov or (901) 415-2778 with any questions.
