Open Makerspace is a daily drop-in opportunity for teens to explore fiber arts like crochet and embroidery, DIY crafts, nail design art, or test new tools and materials.

Open video lab is a time for teens to explore the space and to experiment with cameras, lights, microphones, backdrops, and editing software. A video lab instructor will be on hand to offer guidance and assistance to teens when needed.

Teens are invited to try a different Board Game every two weeks at South.  Card games, Dungeon Crawlers, Deck Builders, Strategy versus all-out chaos - it’s all on the table at Board game Buffet.

This class explores the rich cultural history and symbolic meaning behind tribal face art from Indigenous and ancient cultures around the world.

Participate in a yoga experience to stretch the body and soothe the mind.

Free chess tutorials for all ages. Beginners are invited to learn to play, and veterans are welcome to challenge each other to a friendly match of strategy and tactics. For this event we will meet in our main lobby behind the escalators.

The Like Really Creative team is taking over the Raleigh Library! We will start off with Fun Yoga with John Brugge, and then switch to Creative Play Stations with Meghan Tsitsuashvili.

Toddlers will enjoy an interactive and engaging storytime that is sure to keep them wanting more! With a focus on early literacy skills, each storytime will include a read-aloud of 2-3 books, movement activities, and more.

Computer Basics covers basic computer skills for those who want to learn or improve their computer literacy. Please come with your questions and concerns. Laptops are provided, but feel free to bring your own.      

Themed story time about this earth we live on! Songs, games, finger plays, activities, art, and of course, stories.

This is an ongoing class for beginners and those with little experience with computers. 

This class will be held from 11-12:30 on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. 

Memphis Public Libraries provides free notary services to the public during drop-in hours: WEDNESDAYS from Noon – 2 PM at the Central Library in the Business & Sciences Department on the 3rd floor.
