Discover the fascinating connection between music and math in this engaging 4-session class. Participants will explore the basics of piano playing while learning how mathematical concepts like patterns, intervals, and sequences shape music. From building chords to creating progressions, this hands-on program combines creativity and logic to inspire teens and tweens interested in both music and math. Perfect for beginners and curious minds!
Instructor:
Christopher Sanders is a native Memphian and graduate of Whitehaven High School. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and a master’s degree in Education from Union University. With extensive experience as a Minister of Music, Director of Music, and Pianist at various churches in Memphis, Christopher currently serves as the Director of Music at Parkway Gardens United Presbyterian Church and the Band Instrument Coordinator for Memphis Shelby County Schools.
