Program Description

Event Details

Join teaching artist Carol Buchman for this 5-week introduction to mural making. Participants will collaborate to design and create a large multi-paneled mural. Along the way they will learn elements and principles of design and scale, along with techniques for application. The finished panels will be displayed at the Central Library for the month of November.

This 5-week course meets at Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library on Mondays from 1:00pm-3:00pm on 10.6, 10.13, 10.20, 10.27, and 11.3. Participants must attend all sessions.

Mural Making is a FREE Studio Course for learners 65+ offered by Creative Aging Memphis in partnership with Memphis Public Libraries. This partnership is supported by ARTSmemphis, the Tennessee Arts Commission, the Assisi Foundation of Memphis, the H.W. Durham Foundation, the Memphis Library Foundation, and the Friends of the Memphis Public Library.
