Join teaching artist Amy Hutcheson for this 4-week course exploring the early roots of abstract art through conversation, observation, and experiment. Participants will explore and discuss the work of famous abstract artists like Klint, Braque, Leger, and Mitchell focusing on the artistic style and historical context of each artist and then apply inspiration from these styles to create their own original abstract artwork.
This 4-week course meets on Fridays from 1:00-3:00 pm at Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library on 2.27, 3.6, 3.13, and 3.20. Registration is required; must attend all four sessions.
