  • Focus on Children: This day is entirely dedicated to providing engaging activities for young children of all ages.
  • Library Setting: The event takes place at the Cossitt Library, allowing kids to explore the library space in a playful way.
  • Variety of Activities: Activities include a Hattilou Theater children’s play "Anansi the Spider" based on West African and Caribbean folklore, introduces young audiences to storytelling through music, dance, and humor. The performance runs about 20 minutes, followed by a puppet-making activity for the kids. All materials are provided, and everything is free. Sensory Storytime with Heather Issel begins at 12.30pm. Sensory Storytime is a welcoming interactive environment designed for sensory seeking children with autism or other sensory integration challenges.
  • Educational Value: While fun, the activities often incorporate educational elements, encouraging reading and learning through play.
