Creative Aging Studio Courses: Artists from the Harlem Renaissance

Join teaching artist Carol Buchman for this 5-week homage to the works of prominent Harlem Renaissance artists including William Johnson, Romare Bearden, and Faith Ringgold. Participants create their own art pieces using a variety of medium and styles reflective of the artists studied during the course.

This 5-week course meets on Wednesdays from 11:00am-12:30pm at Frayser Branch Library on 2.25, 3.4, 3.11, 3.18, and 3.25. Must attend all 5 sessions.

Exploring the Harlem Renaissance is a FREE Studio Course for learners 65+ offered by Creative Aging Memphis in partnership with Memphis Public Libraries. This partnership is supported by ArtsMemphis, H.W. Durham Foundation, the Memphis Library Foundation, and the Friends of the Memphis Public Library.
