Everyone has a story to tell, and every story matters. Join us for this personal essay writing class, presented by author Jasper Joyner, where we’ll explore the key elements of a powerful personal essay. After a brief warm-up, students will craft a short personal essay inspired by the memoir genre. All skill levels are welcome!
Jasper Joyner is an author, poet, and teaching artist from Memphis, TN. Jasper's chapbook, A Flamboyance, with Bottlecap Press, and YA fantasy novel, Juniper Leaves, are out now. Their most recent work, PANSY: A BLACK AMERICAN MEMOIR, was voted one of PUBLISHER WEEKLY’s BookLife Best Books of 2024.
Registration opens on March 29th, 2025 following Jasper's lecture on overcoming writer's block!
