Program Description
Event Details
For April, our "page-to-screen" book club, I Read That Movie @ the Library, is reading the 2016 novel Conclave by Robert Harris. The book is set in the Vatican as a papal conclave meets to elect the successor to a recently deceased pope.
Participants are invited to read the book, then come for a screening of the 2024 film adaptation starring Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, and Isabella Rossellini. The acclaimed film won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay and the SAG Award for Outstanding Cast Performance.
Copies of the book are available at the Reference Desk in the Humanities Department on the 2nd floor of the Central Library.
The screening will take place on Saturday, April 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the Memphis Room (on the 4th Floor in the History Department), followed by a discussion about the book and the film. Even if haven't read the book, you are welcome to join us to watch the movie and participate in the conversation!
