We will have a Historical Black Memphis Essay Writing Contest for ages 12 to 14 and 15 to 18. If you are interested in participating, please come by the Levi Library no later than 5:00 pm on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, to pick up your entry form and a list of prominent African American Memphians and or events in Memphis to select. Please type and submit all essays to Levi Library on or before 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 10, 2024. We will announce winners in each category on February 17, 2024, and award prizes.
