Program Description

Event Details

It's recruitment season for CLOUD901's community-based FIRST Robotics team! Teens are invited to meet 1 on 1 with our Robotics Coach to learn all about it.

What is FIRST Robotics?

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a team-based robotics program for youth to gain valuable skills in STEM, teamwork, and leadership. Guided by adult mentors, participants will design and build robots while also shaping a strong team identity.

Who can join CLOUD901's Robotics Team?

Teens 13-18 from any school district or homeschool program are welcome to join.

What if I've never taken STEM classes?

No formal STEM experience needed. Mentors are here to help you learn! The main STEM roles are:

  • Mechanical - Responsible for the physical design on the robot.
  • Electrical - Responsible for building the power, wiring, sensors, and control systems.
  • Programming - Responsible for writing and troubleshooting code that makes the robot perform tasks.

We are also looking for essential roles in:

  • Marketing & Promotion - Responsible for social media engagement, digital art, flyer creation, choosing promotional items (team shirts, wristbands, buttons, etc)
  • Fundraising - Responsible for organizing campaigns to raise money for the team.
  • Community Outreach - All members will participate in visiting schools or local events to spread the word about FIRST Robotics and inspire other youth.
