This program introduces the fundamentals of caring for houseplants so they can thrive indoors. You will learn how to understand plant needs, recognize common problems, and build simple care routines. The course is designed for beginners and plant enthusiasts alike, with practical tips that can be applied to a wide variety of common houseplants.
In this program, you will learn the following:
- Benefits of houseplants
- Understanding light requirements (low, medium, bright, indirect light)
- Proper watering techniques and avoiding overwatering
- Soil types, drainage, and pot selection
- Temperature and humidity needs
Booker T. Leigh is a retired extension agent who worked for more than 30 years for the University of TN Extension Service. Part of his job included presenting and sharing information related to gardening, lawn care, tree disease, vegetable gardens, disease identification, and other things related to horticulture.
