Program Description

Event Details

Africa in the City is designed to teach members in the Memphis community about the history and culture of various communities in Africa. Food tastings, mini language lessons, and hands-on activities are features of the program. 

Instructor: Tanisha Dudley-Williams is a teacher with Memphis Shelby County Schools. She has been in the education field for 25-years. In addition to having bachelor’s and master’s degrees she received her Teaching Africa Teacher Certificate through Boston University African Studies Center in 2022. In 2019 she spent time in Senegal as Fulbright Teachers for Global Classroom Fellow. She was also a participant in the 2022 Fulbright-Hays group project abroad which provided her an opportunity to spend time in Ghana.
