Presented by Humanities Tennessee. This is a FREE 3-day workshop:

  • June 3: 10:00am-5:00pm
  • June 4: 10:00am-5:00pm
  • June 5: 10:00am-3:00pm

Attention High School students (incoming Fall 2024 Freshmen through outgoing Spring 2024 Seniors ages 14-18 as of May 29 2024)! Do you have a sincere interest in creative writing? Would like to hone their craft with peers and professionals. Is that you?! I think it might be you ... Yes! Humanities Tennessee's Young Writers' Workshop lands at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library this summer. Students (ages 14-18) will write and write and write! With a professional, published author. With a special guest or two. With your peers.

This'll be a chance to play with genres, too: poetry, fiction, and beyond. No previous creative writing workshop experience necessary at all. Your curiosity and excitement are all that we ask you to bring.
