Part 2 of 3 Workshops
Students will build upon the basic tools they learned in Session 1 by developing an understanding of characters and how to use them within a story. We will discuss how to craft characters to maximize conflict and provide a satisfying arc of character growth to an audience. Specific learning objectives include:
- Wants vs. Needs
- Protagonist vs. Antagonist (unity of opposites)
- Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs
- Character Triangles
- Character Bios Exercise (Begin writing a strong protagonist and a strong antagonist whose goals are at odds with one another)
