Lit at the Library: The Loss of Innocence

October 6-November 2

Thursdays from 6-7:30 pm

From the fall of Icarus and the story of Adam and Eve to coming-of-age novels like The Catcher in the Rye or The Lord of the Flies, literature has always explored the tension between innocence and experience. In this six-week course we will read texts from various genres, including short fiction, poetry, and film, that consider the loss of innocence. Our readings will lead to lively discussions and activities about this recurring theme in literature. Don’t miss this stimulating class that will cover works from ancient myths to contemporary authors and beyond!
