What topic should I choose? How personal should it be? Who will read it? Are there topics I should avoid? These are just a few questions students have about the college essay. For most students, the college essay can be the most challenging part of the college application. But it doesn't have to be.

As former director of the Writing Program for Choate Rosemary Hall Summer Programs and former director of communications for Memphis Shelby County Schools, Dr. Cathryn Stout has read thousands of essays throughout her career. She has the answers to these questions and more. Join her to look at the good, the bad, and the ugly of college essay writing.

All workshop materials will be provided.
