Kim Halyak is joining us for this seminar on "Creating Captivating Curb Appeal." Kim is a fixture in the Memphis gardening community and will share her wealth of knowledge from many years of gardening and will bring fresh garden ideas from around the country. Read on for her bio. Kim is an avid gardener, garden speaker, and retired teacher. In 2016, she co-founded the annual garden extravaganza, Cooper-Young Garden Walk, which celebrates over 100+ inspiring, urban gardens in Cooper-Young. In 2023, she founded Experience Memphis Gardens, a citywide garden walk, encompassing 29 neighborhoods and 207 gardens over 26 days.
Kim believes that beautiful spaces have the power to change a city. February 2023, she gave a Tedx Memphis talk on “Neighborhood Beautification Grows Tourism Dollars.” Her mission is to grow open garden tours and special garden events throughout the Midsouth for the express purpose of making Memphis a premier Garden Tourist destination and beautifying our city.
Kim belongs to the Garden Communicators, Int.; The Rotary Club; Memphis Horticulture Society; Memphis Master Gardeners; and several garden clubs.
