During this 4-part course, participants will be introduced to the history and essential tools of calligraphy (the art of decorative handwriting). Participants will learn various techniques before completing a personalized keepsake.

Participants will discuss concepts and sketch ideas with teaching artist Sarah Nowlin for an original sculpture creation. The sculptures are created with cardboard, foil, wire, masking tape, paper, and various other materials.

Join us for an intro to hand embroidery with our Tween librarian, Marty. Ages 8-17 only. Supplies limited. 

Family storytimes are a great opportunity for children and caretakers to come together, hear stories, sing songs, and work together on crafts or other activities. Dragons have been part of stories about adventures for hundreds of years.

Please join us Saturday afternoons for children's craft time at Cossitt Library. We will have a guided craft, but also will provide supplies for artistic free play. Come get crafty with us!

Enjoy stories, songs, and fun as children ages 3-5 are introduced to the joy-filled world of children’s books. Groups must pre-register.

Watercolor artist Susan Maakestad works with participants to learn watercolor history, varying methods of applying watercolor to paper, and creating their own watercolor paintings.

The only objective is to put words on paper! Think of this as a NaNoWriMo "write-in," but for those of us who need longer than a year to write a book! Bring a writing project to work on, or start something new. All skill levels welcome.

Jump into a new creative adventure and learn the basics of leathercrafting with Tandy Leather.

Come to the Cordova Branch Library for Art.  Listen and learn from Art-to-Grow with the Dixon Gallery.  Then create a masterpiece to take home.  For ages 5-12 and no registration is needed.

Tween Zone is a chance for tweens ages 10-12 to chill out after school. Need to give your mind a break? Stop by the children's department to create art, play games, and chill. 

Make your very own painting using bubbles instead of a paintbrush!

Join the Dixon's own Shawna White for an hour of learning inspired by the ever changing seasons and collections at the Gallery. No experience needed to create your own works of art from a wide variety of techniques!

Join us for big fun with little things! Learn to make jewelry for yourself or someone . Your imagination can take you anywhere! All supplies included.
