Africa in the City is designed to teach members in the Memphis community about the history and culture of various communities in Africa. Food tastings, mini language lessons, and hands-on activities are features of the program.

This session provides an overview of how to conduct genealogical research, including helpful charts and forms, free internet research sites, and other helpful tips to continue your family history journey.

A beginning Spanish class designed for students that have no familiarity with the language. Registration not necessary and we can start you with our beginners group and work you up to our advanced group.

Join us at the Whitehaven Library for a fun exploration of Japanese anime and comics. We'll dive into monthly screenings of popular anime and engage in discussions and activities on manga trends and Japanese culture. 

GRIND CITY MEET- A 4 week photography series exploring the essentials and fundamentals of photography from camera basics to photo editing. 

Registration recommended but not required.

Classes will cover introductory Spanish terms and keywords commonly used in day-to-day conversations. Lessons will focus on vocabulary, speaking, and some writing skills to help students communicate effectively in everyday situations.

The AAPI Education Series, sponsored by the City of Memphis, will take place on Saturday, May 24, from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the Bert Ferguson Community Center (8505 Trinity Road, Cordo

Join us at East Shelby for some anime fun! We'll not only be watching anime, but learning about Japanese culture, language, and history!

G'day! Join us for a special storytime performed by Mark Riddle, manager of the South branch, as he shares stories, songs and a snack from his home country of Australia!

Submissions are now open for Memphis Public Libraries Comic Con Art Contest. If accepted, your comic-themed art will hang in the Benjamin L. Hooks' Goodwyn Art Gallery for the month of May, and will be entered into the art contest.
