AARP Foundation’s IRS-certified volunteers provide FREE basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals.

AARP free tax preparation for seniors 60 plus. AARP will assist all, but seniors will be given preference.

This program is meant for writers who need motivation and community encouragement to get writing. Every Tuesday, writers will gather at Crosstown Concourse, 7th floor at the big table, to enjoy the company of other writers and get some work done!

Raleigh Branch will be one of the super sites for free tax preparation starting January 30, 2024, to April 15, 2024.

Below is the schedule.
Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Join us for a fun aerobic class with Ms. Linda Epps. Aerobics is a great way to have fun exercising while allowing you to stretch, improve flexibility, muscular strength, and cardiovascular fitness. 

A beginning Spanish class designed for students that have no familiarity with the language. Registration not necessary and we can start you with our beginners group and work you up to our advanced group.

Over the course of six weeks, this program will allow beginners to learn the basics skills need to operate a computer (using a mouse, knowing certain terminology like Desktop, Icons, Menu, opening a program, saving a document, etc.).

Enjoy stories, songs, and fun as children ages 0-5 are introduced to the joy-filled world of children’s books. 

This month we will read about some silly stories, listen to some fun songs, and work on different crafts!

Come to the Cordova Branch Library for Baby Storytime.  Share stories, songs and bubbles!

This week's theme - Out in Space

Adult participants come out and enjoy various provided games; interacting with peers and establishing relationships with others. 

Come to our six-week Fabric Collage series hosted by Creative Aging at the Levi Library. Students will explore various fabric textures and patterns to repurpose them into a collage piece.

A book club for BookTokers! Have you read the latest viral sensation? Are you dying to talk about it? Have you found yourself browsing the shelves for a title you can’t stop seeing on your FYP? This is the book club for you.

Join us at the Whitehaven library and learn about emotional healing and empowerment through artistic express with local artist, Violet Newborn.

Tween Zone is a chance for tweens ages 10-12 to chill out after school. Need to give your mind a break? Stop by the children's department to create art, play games, and chill. 

 Do you want find your voice in your  writing ? Are you  worrying about  the writing section of the A.C.T.

Each Tuesday in February, the South Branch will be highlighting important figures in Black history to learn about their contributions to their areas of expertise. There will also be a hands-on activity each week that relates to the theme.

Participate in a yoga experience to stretch the body and soothe the mind.

Free chess tutorials for all ages. Beginners are invited to learn to play, and veterans are welcome to challenge each other to a friendly match of strategy and tactics. For this event we will meet in our main lobby behind the escalators.
