DESCRIPTION:For March, A Wider Angle, our monthly film series highlighting
  independent global cinema, will screen the 2019 dramatic thriller A Whit
 e White Day, written and directed by Icelandic filmmaker Hlynur Pálmason.
  The film took home the Best Film prize at the Torino Film Festival, and w
 as also selected as Iceland&#039;s entry for the Best International Featur
 e Film Oscar at the 92nd Academy Awards.In a remote Icelandic town, a semi
 -retired police chief, Ingimundur, mourns his deceased wife, who was tragi
 cally killed in a car accident, while keeping himself busy with a seemingl
 y endless renovation of a farm house for his daughter&#039;s family (inclu
 ding a precocious granddaughter whom he often babysits). His bereavement t
 urns to suspicion and rage when he begins to suspect that his wife was hav
 ing an affair with another man from the town. Ingimundur&#039;s spiraling 
 obsession with uncovering the truth gradually puts himself, his loved ones
  and others into increasingly dangerous circumstances.In Icelandic with En
