Sensory Storytime is a welcoming interactive environment deigned for sensory seeking children with autism or other sensory integration challenges.

For all ages and no registration is needed.

Kids: Start your Fall Break Monday off with Art to Grow! We will learn about artists/collections at The Dixon and you'll create your own art to take home!

What looks like a normal rock may actually be a geode with crystals like quartz hiding inside. Learn about the amazing science of geode crystals and try your hand at breaking open a rock to see what you find!

Stop by for a look into the history of crayons and a sneak peek into the process they go through to before they make it onto the store shelf. Design your own multi-colored crayon using recycled pieces of crayons!

Bridges have been around for centuries to help people make it from one side of a body of water or canyon to another. Try your hand at building a bridge to cross a divide using toothpicks and marshmallows.

Young chefs will make a dish while learning basic cooking skills, techniques, and kitchen etiquette.  

Connect Crew will be hosting a family storytime event at the Memphis Zoo! The storytime and animal meet & greet program will be held at the Wild Encounter location. The storytime event will occur during the zoo's Free TN Tuesday hours.

Darlene Newman continues to prove that there's no place like the 'Mound with her new animated series, Orange Mound Bound.

In this program, children will create artwork using Mexican Huichol yarn painting.  With this textured craft, they will have the opportunity to explore their creativity.

Join us for a Spooktacular Halloween Movie Night at the library! Get ready for a ghoulish good time as we enjoy kid-friendly Halloween movies. 

Every Thursday from 4:15-5pm come and sharpen your reading skills. This group is for Pre-k to 5th grade.

Free chess tutorials for all ages. Beginners are invited to learn to play, and veterans are welcome to challenge each other to a friendly match of strategy and tactics. For this event we will meet in our main lobby behind the escalators.
