In this workshop taught by local Film Director Caleb Suggs, students will receive an overview of each stage of the filmmaking process with a focus on the roles of the director.

Children will have the opportunity to read with others to increase literacy.  The children will be using the concept of DiscoverRead and work with some of the components of reading, writing, talking, singing and playing.

Join teaching artist B.J. Foster for this 5-week course and have fun transforming old books into pieces of art. Children and teens will learn how to follow a folding pattern creating a visually interesting three-dimensional image.

Connect Crew will be hosting a family storytime event at the Memphis Zoo! The storytime and animal meet and greet program will be held at the Wild Encounter location. The storytime event will occur during the zoo's Free TN Tuesday hours.

Come to the Cordova Branch Library for a puppet show.  The Kids on the Block will be presenting a fun and educational show.  Then we'll make our own puppets to take home.

For ages 5-12 and no registration is needed.

Free chess tutorials for all ages. Beginners are invited to learn to play, and veterans are welcome to challenge each other to a friendly match of strategy and tactics. For this event we will meet in our main lobby behind the escalators.

Enjoy a fun and interactive story time where books come to life through music! This special session combines singing, movement, and storytelling to engage young children and their caregivers in a joyful, musical experience.

Stretch your imagination with this writing program! Go from station to station, spending about 10 minutes at each working on starting a story based on a prompt/activity at that station. 

Children will work with templates to follow directions to create the picture.

Love music? Ever wanted to write your own song? Now's your chance to write your own song, and get to play it! This will be a very simple exercise in music composition for kids. No prior musical knowledge required.
