May is National Pets Month.  Come to the Cordova Branch Library to celebrate your pet!  Share stories and snacks.  Draw a picture of your pet (or the pet you'd like to have), and then decorate a frame to put your drawing in.

Saturday, May 25th- Today, children ages 8-13 and their caregivers will learn how to make their own custom tacos with Chef Chasidy from 5 Senses Farming Agriculture and Culinary Arts Program. Attendees must register, limit 10.

Make sure your New Year's resolutions stay strong and don't fade away!

Every 4th Saturday, from 1-4 p.m., Mr. James Williams of Sowing Seeds Enterprises will offer free haircuts to our patrons. Patrons must be between the ages of 3-17 in order to take part in this event.

For May, which has been observed as Mental Health Awareness Month since 1949, our "page-to-screen" book club, I Read That Movie @ the Library, will read A Beautiful Mind, the 1998 biography of Nobel Prize-winner John Nash by Sylvia Nasar,

Teens are invited to hang out and create art
with friends. As we bring out the inner artist
and paint the day away. There will be food,
games, activities, and lots of FUN. The Best
Art work wins a prize.

Joseph Oliver and a variety of skilled professionals conduct weekly classes with customers participating in hands-on repair and learning exercises. Participants will be exposed to the basics of electricity and electronics theory and repair.

The only objective is to put words on paper! Think of this as a NaNoWriMo "write-in," but for those of us who need longer than a year to write a book! Bring a writing project to work on, or start something new. All skill levels welcome.

A beginning Spanish class designed for students that have no familiarity with the language. Registration not necessary and we can start you with our beginners group and work you up to our advanced group.

Use those logical thinking skills and make a marshmallow catapult to fling a marshmallow across the room! Join Mr. Tim Roberts from the Tennessee Ag Extension office to put your STEM skills to work!

Tween Zone is a chance for tweens ages 10-12 to chill out after school. Need to give your mind a break? Stop by the children's department to create art, play games, and chill. 

Need assistance with your phone, computer or tablet? Come to Whitehaven on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays from 6pm to 7pm for tech help with:

Free chess tutorials for all ages. Beginners are invited to learn to play, and veterans are welcome to challenge each other to a friendly match of strategy and tactics. For this event we will meet in our main lobby behind the escalators.

Join us each Tuesday evening in May for 'open play' pickleball on our three courts here at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library parking lot! We have balls and paddles for folks to use, or feel free to bring your own. No registration required!
