Students will learn the basics of screenwriting, including familiarizing themselves with the formatting of a screenplay page and understanding how to take an idea and turn it into a cinematic story.

As part of our fall break, we will have a variety of games available for our children and teens to try and beat their librarians. There will be prizes and snacks.

What is FIRST Robotics?

The only objective is to put words on paper! Think of this as a NaNoWriMo "write-in," but for those of us who need longer than a year to write a book! Bring a writing project to work on, or start something new. All skill levels welcome.

This series will discuss how to turn your passion for writing into an ongoing career. You will learn how to network, get published and take advantage of writing opportunities.

What is FIRST Robotics?

A beginning Spanish class designed for students that have no familiarity with the language. Registration not necessary and we can start you with our beginners group and work you up to our advanced group.

Calling all teens who love a good scare or a heart-pounding thriller! In this special library program, you’ll choose a mystery book without seeing the cover, title, or author.

If you shake your head, stomp, or pat your feet, clap your hands, or move your body in some fashion to a beat in a favorite song, you have rhythm ,  this program is for you.

Connect Crew will be hosting a family storytime event at the Memphis Zoo! The storytime and animal meet and greet program will be held at the Wild Encounter location. The storytime event will occur during the zoo's Free TN Tuesday hours.

Teens are invited to try a different Board Game every two weeks at South.  Card games, Dungeon Crawlers, Deck Builders, Strategy versus ALL OUT CHAOS - it’s all on the table at Board game Buffet.

Get introduced to CLOUD901's Sound Mixing Lab and learn the basics needed for recording our city's next biggest hit!

Note: We do not allow cursing or inappropriate subject matter in the Music Lab.

This class/workshop will focus on dramatic writing culminating to presenting works on stage including poetry, short stories, and prose in a dramatic form.

Free chess tutorials for all ages. Beginners are invited to learn to play, and veterans are welcome to challenge each other to a friendly match of strategy and tactics. For this event we will meet in our main lobby behind the escalators.
