If you are looking to start a vegetable garden this summer, you'll need to know where to plant, which types of soil to use, what you can and can't grow, and how much sunlight your plants need.

Cossitt Library welcomes teens to takeover the space for a variety of free activities like:

Free chess tutorials for all ages. Beginners are invited to learn to play, and veterans are welcome to challenge each other to a friendly match of strategy and tactics. For this event we will meet in our main lobby behind the escalators.

Customers are invited to bring their children to LevImagination Storytime for a 30-minute-long storytelling session designed to stimulate and engage their little ones' minds and imaginations!

Let's all read See Marcus Grow by Marcus Bridgewater! On February 26, 2026 East Shelby Branch will join millions of children and adults read the same book on the same day. 

Do you like Dungeons and Dragons but don't know how to play? Great, neither do we! Come play a chaotic game where no one knows the rules but still have to win battles against unknown foes.

Participants will make a personalized accordion-style genealogy book using a variety of materials like photos, collage elements, ephemera, and family artifacts. The pages can be used for photos, stories and text, and documents.
