To finish of Thinking Money week the tweens have an opportunity to play a life sized Game of Life! Presented like a game show, each team of two tweens will choose career or college, experience payday, have unexpected expenses and more.

Children will have the opportunity to read with others to increase literacy.  The children will be using the concept of DiscoverRead and work with some of the components of reading, writing, talking, singing and playing.

Let's make a balloon lantern! On the first day of this workshop, you'll make a lantern using a balloon, tissue paper, and lots of glue! The next day, come back and apply decorations and a final layer of tissue paper and glue.

Join us for discussion, trivia, and crafts all about Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Children will be introduced to art, providing them with the opportunity explore their creative talents.

Come to the Cordova Branch Library to meet Children's Author Sarai Vaughn.  Hear her read her new book and talk about the writing experience.  Then stay to make your own book.

Literature with Lovie! 

Free chess tutorials for all ages. Beginners are invited to learn to play, and veterans are welcome to challenge each other to a friendly match of strategy and tactics. For this event we will meet in our main lobby behind the escalators.

Enjoy a fun and interactive story time where books come to life through music! This special session combines singing, movement, and storytelling to engage young children and their caregivers in a joyful, musical experience.

Children will challenge themselves and see how many puzzles they can put together.

South Branch Library has a treasure trove of legos waiting to be built. Join our Lego club every other Wednesday at noon and grab a pile. We can't wait to see what you make.

Children get a chance to explore origami, a traditional Japanese art form.  With various folds, brightly-colored squares of paper can be transformed into objects, including animals, flowers, boxes, and more.

Learn to crochet and make your very own beanie in this 5-week program, guided by MPL’s Caitlin Prilliman. By the end of the summer, you’ll have the skills to create a stylish beanie from start to finish! Open to all skill levels.
